Time to finish what has been started ...goodbye ovaries
Last week I finally went to gynaecologist I have the bracken 2 gene and given my age the ovaries need to go. My gyno said some ladies like to get things over and done with as quickly as possible. Ot...
Totally understandable fear @fairydust....when my gyno called me with the path results, she said "are you sitting down?"...well, I freaked out....and then said "because you're going to want to open the most expensive champagne you've got...all clear"! They also did blood tests pre-op which identify any ovarian cancer markers and those were normal, so she said all along she wasn't really expecting anything nasty. For me, it was a bolt out of the blue and something i wasn't expecting at all, and something I had done 3 weeks prior to my DIEP Recon! Recovery was fine, really....just felt (literally) like I'd been kicked in the guts :). xx
