It's been a while for me, but when I had a sentinel node done at Peter Mac, they whipped it straight down to pathology, had a look and made a decision about the clearance then and there. That process may have changed. Very good question to ask your surgeon.
Thing is, Willow, how this stuff progresses is very much determined by the facilities at the hospital. Up here in the sticks things are done very differently from the major centres. I gather there are variations even within the one facility depending on the way the specialist likes to do things or case loads at the time.
Get in contact and ask. I'd say the answer would be hours rather than days. Ask them. Marg xx
