Time between ac and th - hoping for a little holiday between

hello everyone - for those of you who have had ac 4 x 3 weekly followed by paclitaxel 12 x weekly with herceptin x 3 weekly to continue for 12 mths total.
Then radio daily for 5 weeks.

My 4th and final ac is next Monday and other than slight fatigue and loss of appetite I feel ok. Not me, but ok.

But wow like all of us no doubt, I'd love a holiday. Therefore I'm hoping someone out there can tell me how long they had between ac and th.

Many thanks

  • Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. Here's hoping I will have a three week break and Otis sounds brilliant - thank you again. Asked oncologist for dose dense AC as keen to start herceptin. She said at age 65 I wouldn't cope??? Walked 5ks today including 300 stairs and feeling almost like my old self. Best wishes everyone.
  • I had A/C every three weeks and I think ('twas some time ago!) that I had my first Taxol/Herceptin three weeks later. Didn't have radiotherapy so can't help with that one. I felt fine on A/C, got a few side effects with Taxol, but no perceptible side effects with Herceptin.
  • Lmc1310 do you know about the otis foundation ?  https://www.otisfoundation.org.au/

The OTIS Foundation provides retreat accommodation at no cost to those dealing with the challenges of breast cancer.

We aim to provide immediate relief to people who need a short-term break away.

The not-for-profit charity organisation was proudly born in the Central Victorian township of Bendigo and has undergone a rapid and exciting expansion over recent years.

The hundreds of guests who take advantage of The OTIS Foundation's retreat accommodation each year consider the organisation an amazing gift at a time when they need it the most.

The Foundation currently has properties in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory and is strongly committed to ongoing growth.

OTIS retreats offer time out to relax, reconnect and regroup for those dealing with the challenges that come alongside this serious illness.

Each retreat has been donated for its location, in a beautiful environment which allows guests to draw on nature for strength and comfort.

Anyone who has faced the challenges of dealing with breast cancer is eligible to stay at an OTIS retreat, along with their partner, family or friends.

  • Sorry it didn't post it all. I have two more Pacitaxol left and to continue with Herceptin every 3 weeks until December. I have 6 weeks of Radiotherapy to start three weeks later. My RadioOncologist said they normally have a 3-4 week break between Chemo and Radiotherapy to give your body a chance to recouperate otherwise it can enhance the side effects of the Radiotherapy. I think you can fit a holiday in. I hope this helps Mel xx
  • Hi @Lmc1310. I had AC fortnightly for 2 months, two weeks off then Pacitaxol weekly for 12 weeks (I have two more left
