Three years - whoo hoo

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  to all of you.  Wishing you all a HEALTHY and happy 2011.

Well December 2010 marked three years since I heard those three little words that would change my life forever "you have cancer".

They certainly changed my life but not all of it was bad, there are so many new experiences, so many new people and so many things that I now do differently and would not have done if cancer had not entered my life.  If I could say that it would never come back, I would have to say it was a good thing (as crazy as it may sound), sure I would love to have my breasts back, and love it if my bones didnt ache from Arimidex and love to have my old thick hair back, but all of those things do not define me as a person.

So if you are just starting your journey have faith that with time, love and healing you too will come out the other side of the "fog" .

I am looking forward to having the last part of my reconstruction surgery early this year and being done with surgery for a good 50 years.

    Hey Tan!  I'm a bit late, but Happy New Year to you, too!

    And, wow! -- three years is a fabulous milestone, go you!!  I'm so glad to have met you through this network. :)

    Awwww, thanks.  This is me and my kids.  Brandon is 7 and Zali is 5 (going on 15).  They were only 2 and 4 when I was going through chemo, so they were too young to understand much about breast cancer.

    Maybe I could sell my photo to someone famous as an ad for something Ozzie....mmmm thanks for the idea lol, bwahhahaha.  Maybe Oprah will buy it and I can retire from work and spend my life holidaying around the world with my family and doing volunteer work for BCNA?????  Ok , back to reality!!!!

    I feel like I know you too, we will have to meet up soon???

    It was so lovely to meet you earlier this year at the conference - I choose to take those positive experiences away from my time with breast cancer. I come up on 5 years in February, so it's pretty exciting!

    It was so lovely to meet you earlier this year at the conference - I choose to take those positive experiences away from my time with breast cancer. I come up on 5 years in February, so it's pretty exciting!
