This is so weird for me!
I had my 1st chemo last Thursday and I have been travelling fairly well. A bit of queasiness and a bit tired, a sore throat on and off but all doable.
The main lesson I learnt was to take the nausea medication before I feel sick! Hence I spent my first chemo night in bed! It is the changes in my taste buds that is getting to me.
I am a strict vegetarian, eating 80% veg and salad and 20% most other things like nuts etc.
Loving the kale smoothies and fresh vegetable juices but I swear if someone even shows me a carrot I will throw up! I have a heightened sense of smell (everything is yuck!) and I am craving the most ridiculous things.
My kids were in hysterics when I told them I would have killed someone for a big mac, fries and a thickshake...I haven't stepped inside a fast food outlet in 20 years! I did resist but had a bit of chocolate instead!
I have read about this but of course you never think it is going to happen to you! I was full of my own convictions - I will eat healthy and do all the right things - Yeah Right! Famous last words.
My biggest fear is to find myself a few kilos on the heavy side when I have spent most of my life fighting weight gain and keeping myself fit.
Thankfully I am still able to keep up my exersises and walking.
Anyone else in the same boat?????
Weird but funny at the same time hey!
You just have to laugh don't you!
