"Think it Ovaries"

Lovely to see you back online.  Sorry to hear about the new diagnosis.  My bc is hormone positive as well (both diagnosis)  After my first diagnosis back in 2006, I was on Tamoxifen (hadn't gone through menopause).  I kept having "breakthrough" bleeds and was constantly under the Gynecologist having d&c's as he was worried about uterine cancer.  He was inclined to give me a hysterectomy but as my mother had her periods until 56 I figured I was just following her "form".  Anyway with the second diagnosis of secondary bc in my lymph node my specialist put me immediately on Arimidex.  Of course after chemo I have not had a sign of any bleeding so I figured that was now not a concern.  However when I went for genetic testing, the specialist said that if the test came back positive then I would need to consider having my ovaries out.  The test came back negative - and again I sit back and say "one more surgery that I don't have to worry about for now".   I figure if I have another diagnosis and if it is hormone positive I will look at getting rid of all the "hormone producing" bits.  It is a bit to consider though as of course we need oestrogen to keep us a bit healthy.  We do make it from other areas though other than the ovaries.  I'm sure there will be other comments for you to compare with.  Best wishes.
