The wriggly blue line

Saturday found visiting the Accident & Emergency at Calvary Hospital as my local  surgery was closed - luckily I had a "get in free card" which meant I didn't have to pay the $185 (private hospital fee) as I had my operation at the hospital. Unbelievably, I was seen within 15 minutes of arrival. (It's amazing how one becomes use at baring one's breast to all and sundry!!!)

The senior doctor on duty, like my Breast Care Nurse, was not sure if the redness around my scar was due to an infection or an allergy to the wet-proof plaster that covered the area, so he erred on the safe side and has given me some antibiotics.  I now sport a wriggly blue line around the area (to see if the redness spreads beyond the margins - as it has done from where the wet proof plaster sat). It's definitely a different look smile emoticon

  • Thanks Natasha, all is well - the redness has stayed within the blue line either because the antibiotics kicked in or because there was no infection.  Either way, I'm on a winner.    :)
