The Waiting

Ohh wow, have I kept myself busy, but there is no denying the fact that it certainly casts my mind back to a year ago.  The inevitable check up to see if you have Cancer come back, not the most fun is it ladies.  You will be proud to know that I have washed my car, and detailed it and filled my time constructively, but its horrible waiting.  Each time I have allowed my mind to wander into reminding myself about what its like to get bad news, I say "Pull your head in, you are lucky McKenna!"  Well thats what I tell myself, always the optimistic, and never been that lucky!

Have been falling in to ol bad habits of worrying about going back to work, and the need to earn money.  Quickly replaced by "Dont worry it will all work out, it always does!"  and anothter ol fav of my Dad's  "Whats the point of worrying about what may never happen!"

Oh well, off to continue reading my book, watching stuff I like on TV and avoiding watching the clock.........

  • It is so strange when we have our routine checks.  I always try and stay calm, keep really busy and I think I am coping really well.  After they are all over and I get a good result I then realise how "mad" I had been acting.  Such a stressful time!!!!  Hange in ther dear Bel - your results will be here soon and "What is - IS". • More fingers crossed for you here too! We really learn the knack of keeping busy to make that waiting time pass quickly along the BC journey. Just the same it never really gets easier! Good luck. Deanne xx

  • The waiting has always been the worst and there was nothing i could do to minimise the impact either, its one of those situations that you just can't control.

Getting back to work is a double edged sword I feel, its exciting to be reclaiming your life but scary too.

Today I went into work to chart my return to work and speak about what I will be doing I was so nervous. silly silly me, my work as usual were supportive, its, work just the hours that i can manage and exciting I am going back to a new job with all the best things I liked about my old job and more. Reporting directly to my director.

So fingers crossed yours transition back will br as easy as mine.
