The unexplained

It is now day 10 since I had my expander implant put in place.

The bruising is still coming out and going so I am a mixture of yellow right through to blue.  My entire breast is bruise but what surprised me was that over half of the other one has been affected as well.

No one told me it was going to be like that and I am grateful that I am not an emotional person on this journey.

However, what can't be explained is that I now have severe bruising in my groin and hip area on the same side as well as bruises over my sternum.

I have spasms (or something) happening that take my breath away so I am now on muscle relaxants and pain killers.

It MUST get better, but nothing prepared me for what has happened.

Would I do it again?

Yes, of course.

HOWEVER, I think it would have been much better to have been given more information preparing me for what was going to happen.......BUT that has been my personal story all of the way through this journey.....

  • I went to Mackay the other day to get the dressing changed, to get the ends cut off the dissolvable stitches, and to get the seroma reviewed.

I saw what was equivalent to a receptionist who had no idea what was happening.

The bruises in my groin are unexplainable...........

  • I read your story actually  I have Mastcomy and explander  implant  2 months ago  yes   comes bruise  and yellow  , its  normal  will fade in couple weeks  , yes look terrible but  after that went ok  be patient , and keep exercise your arm and breast  help  breast comfortable  of tighter  from explander implant ,

Dr plastic surgeon says it normal  when bruise comes will fade in 2-3 weeks , but yes actually explander plants make you uncomfortable  of bit tighter around it only temporary  until have  breast implant  then will be more comfortable  as Dr says

I am on 3rd Chemo  on this thursday  and  will have breast implant some time next year ..

I wish you good luck  , and keep exercises your arm :)
