The Smurf
Well that was a bloody long day! Had my first appointment today @9am, met the lovely Glenys and dr Jackson. Soooo after a an early train ride on the transperth equivalent of a sardine tin, plus side, I got a seat, negative side I was sat at just the right height to have someone's crotch in my face, not good just after I've eaten breakfast! We got to Royal Perth in plenty of time, and I met Glenys and then Dr Jackson. Outcome is that I go in tomorrow arvo for an injection for a sentinel lymph node biopsy, I then have to go back for day surgery on the Thursday ( there is blue dye and Geiger counters involved, I wonder if I will end up with the boob of a radio active Smurf?). Then next week it's ct scans X-rays and bone scans, then on the 22 nd I meet the oncologist that's drawn the short straw and has the dubious pleasure of treating me! So it's all go, I've already bought a couple of hats ( be prepared I say) and at present I'm feeling very calm and centered. I'm not saying that is how I always will be and fully expect to have some spectacular meltdowns along the way, but I'm on the train and it's taking off from the station, so intend to hold on tight!
