the site changes

This site is so user unfriendly that I just cant be botheted with it anymore.   Too hard to reconnect with people I actually was having regular contact with. Blog is different, notification & format for msgs is different.  ' IT' has ruined for me what was a great source of daily support which you cannot get anywhere else

  • Hi Nicole

As you can see you are not the only person struggling with this. I too agree that while the old network had some issues also, I preferred it to this new one.

Many of the old features are just not there now and the lack of communication about what is intended to eventually be the end result of all this is disappointing.

As you say this network has the potential to provide support (particularly to those in regional areas) that is just not available anywhere else. For that reason I am persisting with trying to adjust but it is very sad that at the moment it is certainly not functioning and supporting people as it used to. ?? Deanne xxx

  • Sadly I have to agree with the others, and don't visit the site nearly as often - and then only to Private Message friends.  I find it very unwieldy to have to scroll down pages and pages to find past comments, and trying to find a member alphabetically?? - forget it.  The search box would be fine if I could remember their full username, but this isn't always practical.  Things need to be more compact - there is too much white space, which makes the site clumsy.  I miss it, too.  Hopefully one day it will get streamlined so new users won't be discouraged.  Could we have the old Message Page with 30-40 entries instead of 4-5?  Hi everyone - hope you are all doing well. xxxx

  • Hi Tonya

To blog, click on the pink "POST" which is next to your feed, your messages and your profile.  You will soon work it out, just look further down the screen if you can't see things quickly.

  • Hi Nicole

Yes, it is different and we have all been unhappy about things but BCNA is fixing things slowly.

I am now getting emails to let me know that I have a personal message so that is one great improvement.

Don't give up, Nicole, as we are still here for you !  I am going out today but can sit with you later and help you.

Reasons for lack of responses may be that not as many ladies are being diagnosed (hopefully), there is no 'live feed' so people are not getting in on any 'older' conversations (a real pain !) and that ladies are all using different systems - I know my Internet Explorer is not being supported by BCNA ( a bloody nuisance !).

I will send you a personal message later in the day.

  • Sadly,I'm agreeing with you ladies.I don't get any email notifications and I don't know how to create a blog- just know how to comment. There aren't many new posts happening a day like there used to be.I'll keep checking but worry about all those 'new'ladies who could really benefit from the support that the'old'network used to provide.I guess time will tell. Tonya xx

  • Sadly,I have to agree with you Nicole.I thought that in the beginning,it was just me,and if I persevered,I would get used to it,but it's just not happening.I HAVE tried, and I feel that lots of others have as well, but it is simple to tell, that by the number of posts and replies, that many other ladies have just given up.There was a time when it was commonplace to get 20 or more replies to a post. Now there is rarely more than 4 or 5.This blog is more than JUST a blog, but I think that unless you have had breast cancer, you  could not FULLY understand this.Could the format of JUST the blog be changed back to make it look and work something like it did before? I'm guessing the answer to this is a big NO!!! Cheers Robynxox
