The Next Step

Good Morning,

My name is Jenny and I was recently diagnosed with early breast cancer on the 25th September, it all happened so quick.  I had my surgery on Friday 16th so now I am nervously waiting for my post surgery results when I see my surgeon on Monday.

I have to say I have been blown away by all of the support. I received my Journey and care kit and have a lovely breast care nurse, I have learnt so much in a short time about breast cancer and it is amazing to have a network like this.

Cheers ?

I will remember to do that when I get my results. I am very lucky to have  wonderful family and friends beside me and now I have some beautiful pink sisters. Take care

  • Hi Jenny

I was found my lump 6 weeks ago, have had my surgery and I'm due to start chemo next week. This site is fantastic. It has answered so many questions for me and really has put me at ease. I wish you all the best for your test results! Take care

  • Thankyou Maryrose, the support from everyone makes it easier to deal with that's for sure.

  • Hi Jenny, welcome to this wonderful network. Glad you are over the first hurdle- waiting for results is the hardest. Make sure you get a copy of your pathology results and ask your surgeon to write down notes for you to take away. It's so easy to forget but if it's written down, then you can refer to it again. It's a hard road ahead but it's doable with love and support from family/friends/pink sisters. I've done this crap journey twice- 2003 and 2010.I'm fine now.Big hug,xx

Welcome Jenny, glad to hear that your surgery went well. All the very best of wishes for your results. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ??????

  • Hi jenny.

There will always be support here from others like me that have been where you are now and come out the other side.

Its important to take someone with you to all your doc appointments not just for support but to have another persons perspective on what you are told. Its very easy to miss something when you are overwhelmed with info.

If you take things one step and appointment at a time you will get through it.

Be strong and stay positive because nothing is achieved by thinking otherwise.

    Take care ????

  • Hi Jenny,

Welcome to the network. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but it's what brings us together in the first place. You will get amazing support here. I found waiting for results to be one of the worst.  Take someone with you to the appointment so they can remember to ask any question you may forget.  The kit is a wonderful resource of info and questions to ask your doctors.

The early days are very surreal. I was diagnosed back in late April and it wasn't until my treatment plan was set up that I knew where I was going and what to expect.

Take one thing at a time and be kind to yourself.

    Karen xx
