The next step in my journey

Dear Donna. Thank you for your supportive comments. It is really helping me having these messages of love and support. I feel blessed.

Some of my family know. I still have to tell my Brother, He lives in the US and his kids are pre teens so I didn't want to worry him over Christmas. My Aunt (also in the US) and I are very alike in so many ways. She knows as she was diagnosed 28 yrs ago with DCIS. She'll be 80 in April.

My sister has chosen to dis-associate herself from the rest of us after our Mothers death. But O will need to write and tell her so she can update her medical records and get herself checked out if she hasn't already) as she now has a maternal aunt and a sister with BC.

I am single and quite self sufficient. This is going to be a huge learning curve for me to let others help and to say 'yes'.when help is offered.

I made a start on that today when some of my work friends rang and offered to drive me to my GP appointment tomorrow. (Going to get an update on my results instead of waiting another week to see the Surgeon) So I will be treated like a Princess. Pretty in pink too. Ha ha. I have already tried a bit of DIY with  Manic Panic.Not quite the result I wanted but another colleague will come and do it in a couple of weeks for me. I like funky colurs and normally have 2 shades of blonde and red as a third colour (as well as the white that is starting to show through.)

Please excuse my ramblings but I find this very cathartic and it helps me process my emotions
