Forum Discussion
dear lymphies,
only early stages atm but a lymphoedema Alliance has formed with the aim of improving services to us as consumers. BCNA has representation as has Cancer council of NSW, BCAG, nurses, ala, lymphoedema trainers and others representing prostate and melanoma cancers. all up 14 organisations.
I am informed that there are 2 groups the first looking at how to get garments onto the medicare/pbs type system and the other looking at improving services in public hospitals
I am not on this committee but hear through members of our Lymphoedema support group who are representing our group LSg, BCAg and public hospitals.
this is a long term process but at least the various groups are talking.
perhaps this is something those of us in NSW can raise in the elction leadup process. Unfortunately Lymphoedema did not make the top 3 on Cancer Council list but at least it was on the list to be voted on.
just for info at this stage.
