Hi Carol, I agree in sharing whatever info we can. That's what makes this such a brilliant non-judgemental place to come for help or comfort or to vent.
The m product I have is called Marena Comfort Wear. It's just a surgical garment made of strong nylon type fabric that comes up high under the arm and seems to stop the fluid from forming under my arm. It does up at the front. It's been a life saver for me but it may not be for everyone. Mary had some and fitted me with one of hers to show me what they do and how they work. It looked pretty ugly and was a bit tight at first and at the time I didn't understand how they work but she seemed to know her stuff.
It was $60 (I think) and I got a 36d which was what size bra I used to wear /stil wear.
I use a small cotton ladies hankerchief folded into a triangle between my prosthesis and my chest wall. I find it really comfortable. Not very glamourous I know and it doesn't give support to the remaining breast but I couldn't care less. It's got six hooks at the front like what's on the back of a bra to make it go up a size or down a size. The shoulders have three sizes on top of them too. I remember when I first had it, the shoulder bits used to dig into my left shoulder and I had little red welts where it sat. That bit of annoyance was still worth it to me for the effect on my overall wellbeing it gave me. I can't remember when the welts stopped forming and i have been wearing it for more than 12 months probably 90% of the time. I could have put a bandaid or something but I couldn't be bothered with more fuss than I already have. I googled it and here's the website if anyone wants to have a squizhttps://www.marenagroup.com/comfortwear/
I bought it along with my everyday prothesis,a mastectomy bra and swimming prothesis at You Really Are Beautiful a shop at Lambton/Newcastle that specialises in mastectomy wear that has really nice experienced staff.
