The need for proactive approach to lymphedema

I found the clinic in Chermside through the Lymphedema Association. Most capital cities have similar clinics often attached to cancer care facilities or hospitals. The sleeve that I was fitted for by the physio/nurse on the Sunshine Coast was not appropriate for me because it did not have the finger bit. Consequently this forced the fluid into my fingers! I now have a correctly fitting sleeve with finger compression but only need to wear it if I fly or are immobile for a while like long distance driving. I just feel so reassured that I now know enough to help myself avoid any future problems. Good luck in finding somewhere good near you. Take care. Deanne xxx
