Yes, the aching arm is an early sign. The thing that gets me is that by the time there is a noticeable difference in the size of your arm it is already well advanced. Yet doctors just look at you and think that you look fine! Without measuring or using a very expensive machine that measures the level of fluid no one can be properly assessed. Most of us are never measured to provide a base measurement to check against. It should be just a routine part of care for anyone who has lymph node surgery. It is this missed opportunity that can have devastating consequences for some.
