Hi Amanda and everyone else - Amanda thanks for your honest and open message today. ABC seems like such a simplistic term - learn your abc's and 123's and then it takes on a whole new context in your life. You re right when you say this is stepped around so that members with EBC are not discouraged or upset. However, I have found it very discouraging that there is not more chat about ABC. Came to this one late as I was slack in not doing anything about the lump I knew was in my breast. Always another day and anyway something else important was going on wasn't it. When I became really ill it had taken its journey into my bones and liver and was having a great time. Like many of you the oncologist does not talk about time but rather that when this doesn't work anymore we can try that or that new things are coming along everyday. Started on Femara and Bondronat and now on Aromosin and Bondronat. Have never had surgery and it was agreed at the beginning not to do any - not sure if it was a waste of time, would not be helpful or not really needed - the onc and surgeon just agreed and never communicated to me why. I find that the most frustrating aspect sometimes - that the doctor's talk at you, around you and over you but never really communicate with you. Feel like starting a course for them in open and honest communication skills. Thanks all for your thoughts and for sharing your positives and negatives -it is a place to let it out with people who understand.
