The good, the bad and the potentially very ugly
This week has been a mixed bag. I visited my oncologist for my annual check up and all was good with my follow up mammogram and ultrasound and tumour marker blood tests and my bone density has even improved! The not so good news is that my blood sugars are high so that’s being followed up with my GP. The potentially ugly news is that I’m sitting here waiting to go in for a bone scan as I’ve been getting some strong pains in my back over the past month or two and despite trying to wish it away, it’s still happening. Handing in my referral with the words “to rule out metastasis” is sending my stress levels through the roof ☹️

- @Jane221 I can only imagine how anxious you are but fingers crossed it is nothing sinister. We all worry about these extra niggles now & rightly so but you have a good team around you that are looking after you. Great to read that your mammo, u/sound & bone density were good. Try not to panic. My blood results now show up all kinds of things that werent there before cancer so it is like treating one thing can cause another to flare up. I think we all need medical secretaries now as it seems like a never-ending stream of appts & followups. Fingers crossed your back is muscular & then you can treat yourself to a nice relaxing massage. love & hugs xx
- Fingers crossed its just a muscular thing on the back. Its a funny part of your body. One little jink and all the muscles overcompensate to protect it. I feel for you as it can be most annoying. Touch wood my back is good atm. The hip bone tho is another annoying matter for me.

- I've been there. Never been so happy to read degenerative changes and osteophytes before. I'm just aging sadly....so hoping it turns out to be no more than just something a bit shitty but not devastating.
