The good and not so good news
I lost 20 grams this week - how do I know ... that was the weight of the tumour removed from my milk duct and I'm smiling. I can see the funny side of having lost a little itty bit of weight. The great news is that I've received my pathology report and now know that my cancer is not invasive. A huge sigh of relief. The DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma in Situ) is still contained within with milk duct. The not so good news is that I need to have another operation as my margins on one side of the mass were not clear of cellsI am still classed as 'Intermediate' which is also good news (less risk of the cancer returning) and other than a slightly achy breast (usually after a workout) I am feeling great.
Had an appointment with my GP yesterday to check my breast and she said that it looked as if the waterproof plaster had caused burning but told me to finish my course of antibiotics just in case. The scar is healing nicely and today, I noticed the redness is beginning to fade. My breast is a map of different colours - thanks to the bruising but it is beginning to turn a beguiling yellow!
I did two workouts using 1.5 kg hand weights last week after my operation and one again yesterday. Now using 2.5 kg weights - half my usual hand weight. Only managed two pushups yesterday so I will avoid those for the rest of the week but other than that I find it amazing just how much I am doing. Circuits really work well (with a little adaptation) after breast surgery.
Feeling great, very positive and keeping fit. What could be better! Enjoy your day everyone.
