A vitrectomy may help remove the detritus, @AllyJay but I think all this will become clearer when you have your specialist appointment. I can fully understand how worrying it all is, but it's remarkable what can be done. I confess I put mine off - first diagnosed with incipient cataracts about two years after bc diagnosis, when I was feeling well and in control of things, so not at all keen for another bout of surgery. I also have peripheral neuropathy, not as severely as you, and was worried about balance (the one eye fixed, one not period was potentially tricky for someone as short sighted as me), but it was all quite manageable. I hope you have a good resolution to the difficulties.
