the amazing things our bodies can do

Fabulous news, after my mastectomy 2 weeks ago, we visited the surgeon for follow up pathology results on operation. Good results, no further cancer seen in removed tissue, just a tiny piece of cancer in one lymph node. The Dr said, results don't come better than that.........so so so happy........

He also removed my final drain that I had inserted during surgery. It was such a relief to be able to move around again. Although I have noticed that there are some pockets of air in my wound, and when I move sometimes, it makes a gurgling sound like a bubbler. The community nurse said the air will be taken in by my body automatically and I don't need to worry. But it sure does feel funny when it happens. you can also sometimes see the air pocket move down the line of the mastectomy.

So friends, be assured your body will look after itself most of the time. No need for extra worry.

Look after yourselves first.

  • FANTASTIC NEWS.  What a great Xmas present, eh ?

Yep, the body is amazing how it absorbs the 'natural' fluids when they happen.

I agree, getting that final drain out was a blessing.  I kept moving and forgetting to take the bad with me but she insisted and always came along with a not-so-gentle reminder that she'd been forgotten !

Keep giggling at the bubbling !

    Summer  :-)

  • It's always great to get good news, & it doesn't come much better than that!

I hope the rest of your recovery remains uneventful. Do you know the next step in your treatment?

    Take care, Lyn
