Thanks for sharing your story. I am curious as I too have DCIS (had a small invasive cancer removed recently but now they have found DCIS in the margins). This seems to have complicated everything and what started out as very simple surgery (lumpectomy and no infected lymph nodes) could suddenly, it seems, turn into a mastectomy. I am having an MRI to try to find out the extent of the DCIS but dreading the outcome! I'd be interested to know a bit more about your story (why things escalated) - only if you feel like sharing it.
