Yes the only way forward for me was just to roll with whatever came up. Initially we talked lumpectomy then because I had high grade DICS it meant mastectomy. My margins were clear so no radiation. One node was suspicious but they called it negative. ( I was suspicious if they were). The decision for chemo was because of the grade 3 tumour. I was fortunate to not need herceptin so four lots of TC for me. I finished that at the end of February. Seems like a life ago now.
I had expanders and implant. Just waiting for nipple surgery in November. ( for my birthday again! ).
I am now on tamoxifen. Ask anything you like. Oh and I have hair again! Not long......sigh...but hair!
