Thank you Janey

Janey thank you for organising the lunch today. I was great to meet everyone and get to put faces with names! It was very enjoyable. Thank you again and looking forward to next month!

  • Hi Viv.  I am home now, came home on Tuesday after 20 days!

Ended up having another operaton, including a skin graft, to fix up what had gone wrong. Currently having a nurse visit every day at home to change dressings.  Will go back to have the Drs look at it next Weds (23rd).

I don't know yet when I'll be starting chemo. In a few weeks I assume!

    Hope you're keeping well. :-)

  • That was me! Just had chemo today. I was thinking about you as I walked past the lifts to the wards and wondering how you were getting on, but assumed you had long gone home. So sorry to hear you had complications and hope you are now on the mend. You must be so very, very tired of the food at the Alfred. I think that was almost the worst part of being there for me. I will get in touch before I come in for chemo next week just in case you are still there, in which case I could drop in and say hi. Otherwise hope to catch up soon. Viv xxx
  • Hello ladies. I'm sorry about my tardy thanks for organising lunch. I meant to post soon after to tell you how much I enjoyed meeting you all and listening to and swapping stories. I went into hospital for my mastectomy and TRAM flap reconstruction on March 26 and am still here! Flap worked okay but have had some other complications and went back to surgery yesterday to have them fixed. That went well and I was feeling well quite soon afterwards. I expect to be in hospital for another week or so, so may not be able to make an April lunch. If someone organises one for later in the month I will definitely try to make it. Janey, once I am out of hospital and feeling a bit better I will be very happy to organise the monthly lunches as I won't be working and it will be nice to have something to do! And Viv, I think I saw you downstairs at the Alfred today when I went for a walk to the chemist. I didn't shout out just in case it wasn't you! :-) Once again, it was lovely to meet you all and hope to catch up soon. Xx Wendy. :-)

  • Ladies I take a great deal of pleasure organising these lovely lunches. It was so nice to welcome you Lucy and Wendy and Amanda too. We have another new member to welcome to our next lunch, her name is Mary-Leigh and I know she is going to have as much fun as we all have had. Viv, I can't think of a nicer way to spend an afternoon either. To talk, laugh, have a few tears, compare notes, just wonderful. Thanks for the great company. Love Janey xxx
