TC chemotherapy
Hello everyone, I'm about to start Docetaxel and cyclophosphamide chemo on Monday. I'm to have 4 treatments, three weeks apart over three months . Gladly take any advice on what I should be doing ...
If you do end up with scripts to fill on the day, there is usually a pharmacy at the hospital--they can send scripts down and get them delivered while you are having chemo or you can send an offsider if you have one. Just be careful if you do this--hospitals charge the full PBS price for drugs which can be substantially more than you would pay at a discount pharmacy, so unless you have a concession card only get the drugs you actually need on the day through the hospital.
45 minutes home should be fine, I never had any problems on the day, apart from feeling BLAH, my side effects kicked in a bit later--bowels, headaches, joint and muscle pain which is all the more irritating while you are still taking the steroids which keep you awake
