Dear 3rdcharmer, I finished chemo last July and I am still suffering the effects. Definately the worst for me was the Taxotere and I had 2 hospitalisations for 10 days at a time and have been left with nerve damage which may or may not be permanent. I am still not working. Sorry for the bad news but I have some good news to impart. According to my breast care nurse, latest research has shown that only women who lack a certain enzyme in their system have the bad side affects that I have experienced and are still suffering. Most women seem to have that enzyme metabolise the chemo and fly through chemo and recover quickly. Apparently only a small percentage of us have these extreme side effects. I wish you all the best. Read everyone's comments but dont take them on board as every one of us has a unique body chemistry and every one of us has a different experience. Yours will be your own. In the future they will be able to target each of us individually and give us just the right dose and type of drugs to knock over the particular cancer that we each suffer from. Hold you head high and look straight ahead, that is the only way to get through this time. Good luck:) Louisa
