Taxotere #2...

So far so good, apart from a few aches, mild nausea, slight headache, feet a little tender, but no where NEAR the state i was in 3 weeks ago! I came home after it too, didnt feel the need to go in hospital, i said if i got bad Id go in.Tuesday 12th i went to chemo, spoke to my Onc who agreed i had a bad dose, so he halved it this time, and i faired better! But Im a bit nervous about saying too much too soon about feeling ok, you never know when this monster will turn around and bite you! Typical Tax, feel good until day 3-4, then feel lousy. Bit of a chemo belly this morning, could have been the stirfry veg i ate last night ;)

  • Hi Gayle -- glad to hear this one went a bit better. And good idea about delaying the next one to have some fun with your grandson. :)

  • Hi Gayle

Good to hear that your chemo it getting better. Yes, hate not having the taste buds...

I have also been suffering badly from indigestion. the more chemo's I seem to have the symptons have lasted longer. DRAT!!

Anyway, back to you....... Yes we need a bit of "normal" in our lives, and its nice that you are having your grandson for the holidays. How lovely, to spend time with your grandchildren. Hope you have great weather and a great time.

Lovely for your friend Sue to be debt free. And now be able to go on a cruise.

Wow to have 7 hours of chemo... I cant stand to sit there for 4-5 hours with breaks. Hope it all goes well and here bloods are as well.

Yeah, we do say that we are alright. But we aren't some days... and it is hard to just keep going.

But somewhere we do find a smile somewhere.

  • Glad to hear this tax dose wasn't as bad.

I have been very lucky with my 4 tax so far,and I have only 2 more to go.

Do you get the anit nausea drug Alxi before your xheom? It has done WONDERS for me - I used to get nauseous especially for the first day, but now, no nausea (just shocking bloody fatigue <LOL>).

Hope each cycle gets easier and easier for you.

  • Ask your Onc about reducing the dose, it can be done, and he has to grant that! Lessening the dose still has the same effect, just not the impact on your body. Good luck with yours hunny! xx

  • Hi Gayle

Sending you all good vibes to hopefully keep you well this time and no surprises pop up for you.  Smooth sailing through Taxoter 2 for you.

I have Taxotere 3 next Wednesday.  Not been good smooth sailing for me so I will be glad to get my final chemo done and dusted and hopefully look ahead to feeling well as soon as possible.

You will be at number 3 before you know it as well.

Stay well, nuture yourself and I have everything crossed for you for this cycle.

    Mich xoxo

  • Glad to hear this has gone better - can only grit the teeth come day 3-4! It will pass, (I tell myself too, as I sway over the toilet bowl!)

    Best wishes..... Pam
