Taxol

hi all hope everyone is well. Today is my happy day. Today is my last taxol, woohoo. It's been a long six months since chemo started, some days I thought I cant do this but pushed through these thoughts and have come out the end. It's not a position I or anyone else for that matter want to be in, but have come out the other side. Hair is starting to grow back think I need to take bets on what colour it will be, whether it will bestraight or curl lol. Next stage is to have my lymph nodes removed that's happening on 9th October, then radiation to follow. To all who are just starting the journey may it go as well for you as it has for me without to many side effects, you will come out the other side. I wish everyone well and will keep In touch as each stage comes about. I made it through woohoo.  Glynnis ??????????

    Hi Gillian, enjoy your holiday, I've got a cruise to New Zealand in January thanks to my mum I know how much I'm looking forward to that, holidays are a great relaxation time to collect ourselves and get ready to live our lives. Glynnis

    Hi Glynnis,

    Chemo finished on 9 June and I still have numb-ish fingers and toes, though it is lessening.

    With radiation behind me I'm looking forward to my post-treatment reward - a week in Kakadu in a couple of weeks!

    Yay! Good for you Glynnis! Long, tough road but you got there. Time to rest up and enjoy seeing what your hair's going to do and wishing you all the very best for your surgery and radiation. Jane xx

    Hi Gillian, I have been lucky with fingers and toes didn't get any changes until week 10 so we went ahead as the changes didn't change, had a tickly cough developed in week 11 but thought it was due to aircon, but then today started to cough again so they stopped treatment with only 50 ml to go, dosed me with steroid to counteract reaction and that was that so I feel gratefully to have got as far as the last one, how are your fingers now? How long has chemo been finished? Hope all is well other wise. Glynnis xx

    Fantastic another milestone, it is so difficult at the beginning thinking you will never get to the end. Good luck on the next part I always tried to get through each stage one day at a time.

    Happy birthday what a great present, I hope you also got something nice .

    Well done Glynnis, what a woman. That taxol is a bugger with joint pain and the peripheral effects on fingernails and toenails. You got through it with a. Big smile and a positive attitude. All the very best for the rest of your surgery and rads. You'll smash it, Trace xxx ??????

    Congratulations?? . It is long and hard, but somehow we all get there!! My hair was straight and brown before chemo. It grew back VERY curly and a silver colour. The curls dropped out at about 6 months but the colour has stayed.I reckon just embrace whatever and be proud and happy to just get there! Well done again!!!! Cheers Robyn xox
