Taxol

hi all hope everyone is well this Sunday, I was due to start taxol last Monday but due to sickness was delayed a week, I'm now due to start taxol x 12 tomorrow, how did everyone go when they had this?  Anything I should be aware of?? I'm told it's a lot better than the AC which I was so pleased had finished, now to start next leg of journey, then on 2/10 rest of lymph nodes coming out, will be pleased once that is done and we get a negative result from them fingerscrossed, take care everyone Glynnis x

  • Thanks Mozzie Bear, oncologist says this is a lot better on you than the AC chemo. Can I ask a stupid question what is EC? hope all is well with you Glynnis x

  • Thank you Debbie, oncologist said about the Neuropathy in fingers, thanks for advice, hope all is well with you. Glynnis x

  • Hi Glynnis, I finished 9 taxol treatments at the end of April this year.  I did EC first and it was definitely better on the body.  I did end up with peripheral neuropathy in my fingers and feet - the last dose being the killer.  I still have this problem although it is slowly improving - fingers crossed it does go away but not definite.

I worked during taxol -went to work in the morning and had the next day off which worked well.  By the end I was just going to sleep in the chair which was fine by me.

No other major problems.  Good luck.  Maureen

  • Hi Glynnis,  I just finished 12 Taxol/carbo weeks and have started my EC cycles.  I'm finding more nausea with the EC and more shortness of breath.  I ended up with moderate neuropathy in fingers and feet but think that  was from the carbo component.  Taxol should be a breeze for you now, remember to keep your fluids up though and best of luck with surgery.

    warm regards

    Debbie
