Tattoo's

Yes I have the breast care ribbon on my other breast after I was diagnosed I decided I want wanted one. My husband and I  got it together after my second operation. It was liberating. No can see it but its fun flashing it to friends! Vicky 

My Surgeon is planning December for my nipple reconstruction. 

ill probably go with taking a part of my remaining nipple and sharing them... Either way my breasts dont look the same and at the end of the day only me and my husband see em, so ehhhh its not that important in the sceme of things, u know. but is hard to make the decision something i gotta live with the rest of my life.

Yes its a difficult decision isn't it. I have looked into more options of where to have the skin taken from but it all seems so painful.

When was your surgeon looking at doing yours? I am going to wait until i feel a little better informed.

Besides for once in a long time i am not in pain so i am just not ready yet.

I can't wait to go and see my plastic surgeon next to see wether this could be an option for me also.

I have been putting it off because i donot want to have the skin graft. I donot want more scars, i have heard that some ladies got to freeze their nipples and then reattach them at a later date. That would of been cool but not an option because of my type of cancer.

As for your 'high beams' thats really funny! I joke all the time that when im 80 and saggy i will still have perky silicone boobs. I think humour is a good way to deal with these things cause at the end of the day all you have is health and happiness.

My partner got burnt quite badly several years ago and after seeing what he went through the skin graft option is not for me - mainly because you have 2 wound sites - the donor site and the grafted site. I do know someone who has had grafted nipples (the donor site was the top of the inner thigh) and the result does look very realistic.  Initially I only wanted just tattooed nipples, but my surgeon and partner encouraged me to go more for a 3D effect as he said that it will look less like a transfer.    The surgery I am having is done under a local anaesthetic and is where they twist the skin into a nipple and stitch it. I don't have much feeling there anyway so hopefully it won't hurt too much. Then in a few weeks time I will have the tattooing of the areola. I am hoping that the result is that I don't have perpetual 'high beams' ....lol

I just read that your getting nipples in 2 weeks?

Thats my last opperation i have to go and i am putting it off. What type of opperation are you having are you having a skin graft? if so where from?

No Danielle have not gotten it yet. have still not decided where id get it! I'd love to go with u to get urs but its a bit of a drive from melbs aye!!! lol... 

I was thinking of the wrist but i work in retail and its kind of forbidden to have a visable tattoo, i might just wait until next yr and get one after i quit retail lol... i like the idea of putting it over a scar but all my scars are pretty big lol. i also liked the idea of putting it where my nipple is suppose to be. but i would like it somewhere where people can see it, just not visible all the time... so back to the drawing board. :)

My mother in-law got a lotus flower tattoo where her boob use to be (she never had reconstruction) I would love to get a butterfly with the body of it being a pink ribbon, just don't know where on my body I want it.
