About three weeks for me. I used to get some functioning taste buds about 2 days before the next poisoning.
I still, 4 months later, can't eat some things. Sour is OK--lemony or vinegary foods-- but bitter things like olives and coffee are disgusting. The smell of stewed meat makes me gag and I'm wary of onion and garlic but I'm able to cobble together a healthy diet. I just wish I could lose my obsession with sweet things.
It took a couple of years for me to get back to normal last time.
