Hi Deb, wow, you have alot of details there to help you decide, but i guess sometimes details make it more difficult. Have you seen a gynocological oncoligist? I came accross this professor after genetic counselling. He asked me to meet with him as my Aunt died from ovarian cancer. This is the man that really gave me a second opinion and highlighted the gyno risks.
To to the hysterectomy, do you see a gyno onc for that??? maybe there is another discussion to be had.
Also, I attended a medical tutorial for sydney uni med students and met their professor who is an oncologist. I discussed my worries with them so he sent me a study about the side effects of tamoxifen. I found it very reassuring in that the side effects are basically menopause and not the drugs itself in most cases. For me the downside is that i am too young for menapause, so thats a bummer.
