Thanks Leonie - I've since seen my gyno. He didn't seem overly worried but I had a pap smear anyway (ouch!). Seemed to think it's mostly due to a breakdown of proteins. He's also prescribed Vagifem to help thicken the lining of my uterus which is paper thin, causing the pain during sex. Onc was ok with me using this for the short term only as it contains a low dose of estrogen. Fingers crossed things settle down soon :)
I was on Tamoxifen for 4.5 years and only changed over to Arimidex when I had a second diagnosis. I coped quite well on it except for the "breakthrough" bleeding. Each time this happened I had to have it investigated via D&Cs. Do you have a good gynecologist? Might be worth checking it out - just to be sure. XLeonie
