Hi Sandi,
Pleased to hear you are on the mend - although facing surgery again next month! I had immediate reconstruction with implants, not spacers. The final job looks ok, I guess (the plastic surgeon is very pleased) but having no breast tissue left means that the final result in a bit lumpy and uneven. I am going to have some fat injections done on 4 July - something that I feel is a bit indulgent, but I am keen for a slightly better profile. I know it won't be perfect, but at least the surgeon seems to think he can improve the look.
I agree with the stress comment - just need to work out a way that I can distance myself emotionally from it! I have had a bit of a rough, emotional patch recently, after coping reasonably well for a month or so! I don't know where it comes from but I spent Saturday either in tears or trying not to burst into tears!! I'm sure it is getting tiresome for the family, although I try to hide it from my teenagers as much as possible- it really doesn't help them to see me weeping, just worries them. My husband alternates between saying "you''ll be fine, it won't come back" to nothing at all! Nether very helpful, but can't say I really blame him. He gets tired of the whole thing too!
Well, I will go outside for a walk now to try and clear my head ready for the afternoon of work!
Take care of yourself,
A
