Hi everyone i am 5 days post surgery took waterproof pads off incisions today as per dr instructions just wondering if anyone knows if I can swim in the ocean? I've been showering since the day after...
No No No...yes it is salty but its full of grit, sea life, dead sea life etc. Even soaking in a bath is not good. Wounds take minimum 10 days to be healed...minimum. But if stiches are disolvable it can take longer before all out...meanwhile they are a source for infective matter to get internally. An infection is not worth the risk. I didn't go into a pool until 3 weeks...and then had to wait longer again as a disolving stitch popped up. Safer not to risk it. If hot...cool showers.
