I blew up like a balloon on Docetaxel.
My GP increased my Lasix tablets to 3 per day to try and get my legs down to size. My feet were like two fat pillows and my shoes wouldn't fit.
I am now 13 weeks after the last Docetaxel and they are fine during the day and only swell slightly by the end of the day.
I have to say that spending 4 days in hospital with my legs up after mastectomy, and having the leg squeezey things going for 24 hours during and after surgery really helped.
Massage by my husband at night also helped on the rare occasion he could be persuaded to do it.
Putting your legs up is the best help I found, if you can possibly do it. And using the TED stockings if you can stand them. Otherwise try the support stockings.
I lost 2 1/2 kilos in 5 days at one point, and have lost 5 kilos in total since finishing chemo, all fluid, I am convinced.
