Surgery

Hi everyone

well it has been a very long time since i have been on. A lot has happened since then, chemo finished, 6 weeks of radio finished and was such an easy experience. Now it has come to the time of my surgery. I am due to go in to have a mastectomy on the 17th of july.

Originaly i was going in to have a double and the reconstruction at the same time but my plastic surgeon wanted me to loose 15 kg before he would do the recon. What a shock that was for me. After everything that i have been through and after everything this c____r taken away there was more it wanted. No point in crying for too long. I put my head down and began a new fitness and food routine. Glad to say that i have so far lost 5kg but feel that i will be to square one once i have the surgery.

My question is how will the mastectomy affect me and what do i need to watch out for? Hoping to be up and about straight away, but i do know there will be hard times to come.

    good to hear your update, glad the chemo and radio are over with, and congratulations on losing weight, but like you say, there is always something else, i am sure some of the ladies who have been through construction, will be here to give you hints, tips and support.
