Surgery Scheduled

Finally got the call today about my surgery; perhaps shouldn't say "finally" since it's only been 2 weeks to the day since my initial diagnosis.

Having a Wide Local Excision & Sentinel Node Extraction / Biopsy this Friday (Nov 15).  Apparently early morning arrival at hospital (Royal Brisbane) so they can inject dye to track the Sentinel node, followed by "wiring" which I don't entirely understand (but doesn't sound pleasant) and surgery in the afternoon.

My diagnosis was Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, left breast about 5.00 position.  Several lesions, largest being around 10mm.  

Right now I'm just happy to have surgery schedule confirmed. Let's get this done and move the f*ck on!!

    Thanks for that Elizabeth, I'll do my very best not to slap the radiologist if he/she gets an attitude with me - Lol

    Jules I got in big trouble for not laying still by the dude that was taking the pictures and he really got annoyed with me...after they inject the dye i had to massage my boob for 15 minutes to get the dye moving then the lay still bit kicked in apparently...problem was half way through picture time he left the room and after terrifying me by saying if i don't massage hard enough then it could take 4 hrs as a lady the day before took that long...i decided i should keep on massaging ...my operation was scheduled 2 hrs after the appointment...anyway he cam back in and said what are you doing? you need to lie still!!! talk about feeling like a 3 year old being chastised...it still makes me laugh when I think about it now...so just listen to them and you will be fine!!!     It's good to get things going right?I had a sentinel node biopsy about. 6 weeks ago now,before my surgery.It is perfectly fine,and there was no pain at all.It just took a while,and a lot of laying still.Take an iPod with your favourite music on it:)
