surgery booked
Just found out my masectomy is booked for 2 weeks from today and I'll be having a tissue expander at the same time. I'll be having chemo some time after that. Just wondered if anyone has any exp...
Hi, I also waited about 4 weeks for my surgery after diagnosis. I think it gave me the time I needed to do some research and get my head around what was to come. I alos had to organise a small business closure.
Definately get a comfort cushion. I loved mine to death and used it for a long time in the car to stop the seat belt rubbing.
I only had a mastectomy and axillery slearance and are still waiting for reconstruction. I couldnt have it all done together as I had to have radiotherapy as well as the chemo and they advised me that the treatments could likely bugger an implant. My sister in law had it all done together including an inplant and 12 months down the track she had to have more surgery to remove the damaged implant. She now goes without and wears a prosthesis like I do. Everyone is different, just remember to take what support you are offered. You dont have to do this all on your own, we are here for you.
