Sun and Tamoxifen

Hello ladies!!! I have noticed the past couple of weeks, with the weather improving here in Sydney, that every time I go out in the sun, with sunscreen on of course, I just cannot tolerate the sun on my skin. I feel unusually hot, and experience what I would call a prickly heat sensation, or pins and needles, all over my skin. I have never felt this before, and I am starting to wonder if Tamoxifen perhaps makes your skin more sensitive to the sun? If it does, I have never been told about it. I have my oncology appointment on Tuesday, so I will definitely be asking about this. Has anyone else experienced this? I hope that everyone is doing as well as they can be. xox Cheers Robyn

  • I can't say I've felt pins/ needles/ prickles but I do find it hard to tolerate the heat if I go outside on a scorcher like today.I don't think my body can adjust to the heat quick enough and I break out in a sweat and a giant hot flush.I really wanted to garden today but it was too hot so I stayed indoors. The heat never used to bother me until the bc journey started.I will be interested to hear what you find out Tuesday.Tonya xx
