I tell you, this crap bc journey has more twists and unexpected turns than a theme park ride. After my mastectomy,I kept getting fluid buildup where my boob used to be.I had to have it drained twice a week for 5 weeks and then it settled down.So it's quite possible to get fluid in your breast after a lumpectomy. With my first breast cancer,I had a lumpectomy and then it was about 6 weeks or so before I started radiation. They wanted me to be all healed beforehand. When radiation started,my breast swelled up abit at first but then it seemed to settle down- just ended up glowing like a hotplate! If you are starting Tamoxifen, can I recommend the brand"Genox".There are different carrier chemicals in each brand of Tamoxifen and some didn't agree with me(possibly Titanium)but Genox did. Also,I recommend starting with a quarter of a tab each day for a few days, then half a tab for a week and then the full tab a day.My oncologist said it was good to "ease into it".This hopefully avoids vaginal spotting but no guarantee. I wonder if a warm salt bath or even Epsom salts bath might ease your sore swollen breast? It would be relaxing in anycase.Hope you are on the mend soon, gentle hug, Tonya xx
