Still re-configurating my life..

Hi - I have just recently been diagnosed and begun my treatment for Trip Neg and even though I am 7 weeks into it.....still cant get my head around the massive change to my life. One minute I was living an independent and exciting life, free of sickness and any thoughts of my own mortality - and now I am lying in my childhood bed, with one breast, my hair falling out, and nausea that is crippling. Its so difficult to explain the reality of whats happened to anyone except others who have been through it.  I have found the greatest comfort to be in the shared experiences, humour and care of others going through this.  Am looking forward to further posts and offering the same support and care that has been shown to me.

  • Hi Janey,

I start 6 months of chemo on Tuesday, I'm shaving my head tomorrow, I know I don't need to yet, but what the hell, I may as well get used to the look while I'm still in control. I'm more than ready to kick this cancers arse!

I'm very lucky to have my husband here to help me through. I'm sorry my kids need to come on the ride too, they're 14 & 6 & shouldn't have to be worried about me. Hopefully it makes them stronger more compasionate adults.

My thoughts are with you, Sam ox
