Still in shock!!
Hi all, This is my first post and i'm not sure where to start :/ I'm 32 and a mother of 3 children ages 8,7,4 and was diagnosed with breast cancer on my daughters 8th birthday this April, it was the ...
I am 43 years old with two sons, 12 and 16. I was diagnosed with grade 2 stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in mid december last year. I was diagnosed on a tuesday and started chemo for neoadjuvant treatment the friday of that week. I did 4 x fortnightly AC and 12 weekly taxol treatments. The AC treatments really knocked me around with nausea and tiredness but the taxol wasn't too bad in comparison. As I was not working, I managed some housework, social outings, making meals and exercise. I am now one week out from two lumpectomy surgeries. They removed 27 lymph nodes. 17 had cancer. Not as good a result as yours. I have found the pain and after effects of surgery worse than the chemo treatments and their side effects. I always took someone to chemo for support which I think helped me to cope as well as accepting offers of cooked meals and help with house cleaning. In about a month, I will be having radiation daily for six weeks. Not really looking forward to that. I'm expecting redness, burning and fatigue. I know it's not easy, but try to take each day as it comes. Good luck with your treatment. Lisa xx
