Welcome to the BCNA website. So sorry that you've had this big shock. It's not great to find out you've a long stretch of treatment ahead of you. I am coming to the end of 6 months of chemo and will have my radiotherapy to go too.
Have you got the My Journey kit yet! It's great, full of comprehensive info. Do you have a breast care nurse yet? they are truly wonderful and reassuring too.
Just like recovery from surgery, around three days to a week of the early cycles are just so tiring, so accepting any help with children and meals is great! My children are a lot older, but it was still nice to to have someone bring round a meal and not feel guilty about it. :) Hope you are managing the emotional rollercoaster OK. Sometimes it's all go and we're managing fine, and then other times due to feeling crap, it's all too much!
Keep up with some kind of walking and exercise you do for fun. I know a houseful of young children is a real challenge physically, but it's not quite the same as having a 40 minute break for yourself.
Good luck and ask plenty of questions. Cheers. Meg x
