Step 1
So today was my first official 'cancer activity'. I had my sentinel node identified via radioactive injection. It was pretty ordinary.
One of my closest friends took me. We have decided that while ...
Hi KJ
I had my sentinel node biopsy and surgery last Thursday. Your description of boiling lava was spot on for the SNB. I have never had anything more painful in my life. Unfortunately I wasn't my usual tough self and ended up letting out a yelp, swearing and crying at the poor technician. Bee sting my arse. However after half an hour I was pain free again. Had a 7 hour wait for surgery at the hospital - hope yours goes quicker. I peed blue and green for a day when the radioactive dye left my system. The surgery was less painful than I thought. No pain meds today at all. Unfortunately thanks to my son who has been sick all week I got a cold day of surgery, so now battling clogged lungs. Breathing exercises after surgery are really important.
Sending you best wishes and positive vibes for tomorrow. Hope it all goes well.
