Steam Roller Day

Off fto get my overdue mammogram and ultrasound tomorrow definitely not looking forward to this. I have enough annoying painful spots in the boob and armpit as it is.
Wish me luck.
Scans are not until 28th. The  fear of the ultrasound is greater than the scans they don’t hurt

  • @cranky_granny I am sure they are more vigilant (vicious) on us with an already diagnosed breast cancer and/or history, to make sure nothing is missed.  :) You would think we would get used to these tests, but they don't seem to get any easier.  Glad you rewarded yourself with a nice lunch with daughter and grand daughter.
  • Glad you made it thru OK @cranky_granny xx. I've had extremely painful MGs  - but I was lucky & had minimal discomfort with the US - as my nodes were removed from under the skin rather than incision under the arm .... so no scarring.

All the best for the results xx

  • I have never liked having a mammogram, but never really found it painful to the point of needing panadol.  Although the last one I had in January was quite painful, and I think it has a lot to do with the operator.  I had to ask her to stop, she had grabbed some skin (flab) below my breast. I will definitely have panadol next time.  Two won't cut it for me, I will have three panadols!!!

  • All done. Rewarded myself with lunch with daughter and granddaughter. A few red marks but i survived. She didn’t see anything she wasn’t expecting
    results in a few days
  • I can cope with the mammogram as I try to focus on the corner of the wall or something - usually I find a dirty mark or something !!!
Now I hate the ultrasound more as that deep massage (as you put it @cranky_granny) of the armpit is so painful.  I want to tell her to stop but know that she has to do it to be sure.  🤣🤣🤣
  • Sitting looking at the torture  machine squash then deep massage to come. Too late for the Panadol
    shes here
  • All the best @cranky_granny - the ultrasound shouldn't actually be painful - just 'cold & gooey & messy' .... it is the MG I hate!  :(

I am sure if they used MG on men's testicles, they'd invent something much less painful VERY quickly!

GREAT idea @jennyss - I'd never thought of that!!  Will try it next time!

    take care xxx

  • Good luck @cranky_granny. Wishing you all the best. @jennyss I think your idea of taking panadol is really good. Might do that myself for my next one.
  • For the first time last  year, I took a couple of panadol before my mammogram. It made a big difference - a lot less painful! lol
