Hi Federica
Yes I have often lost my messages and had to start again.
I must say I have been very impressed with the public system except for the waiting part, which isn't really that long but does seem like forever when waiting for results.
I will take my phone to hospital also and some reading material. I am amazed how well you coped with the pain. Because I never had a lump I had two wires inserted in my last procedure so the surgeon could navigate his way to the spot. That was the worst bit. I had to stay so still before my op so they wouldn’t move.
I have been chatting with my husband about later having the other removed to then doing the surgery to replace both. Not sure I will go through the public system. Might have to do something with our home loan and add that on.
I will get in and do some cleaning too and get my bag sorted for hospital. That’s great advice, thank you:-)
I usually work at a primary school but took a break last year to work more with kitten/cat rescue. It doesn't pay the bills but I love it. There are 14 here at the moment so my family will have their hands full just caring for them. Litter trays, litter trays, litter trays!!!! I have been so depressed and anxious and really missing the team I work with, so I can't wait for the normal me to return. We have so much fundraising to do.
One thing I don’t need now is radiotherapy as I am having the breast taken off. Not too sure on chemo as they need to see if the cells have spread. With DCIS it is usually confined to the milk ducts but because they found more behind the nipple, who knows. I am just about willing to do anything to still be here in 40 years’ time or more.
I actually haven't told all of my friends yet. I will though. It was only because one of my friends has cancer that she told me and I thought hang on we are both 42. So I went and had a mammogram and it went from there. So I do think it’s a wise idea to let them know too otherwise I today would have no idea. Have I told you all this? If so, I am sorry :-)
Are you familiar with the FB site "Under The Red Dress"? It’s worth a look. Very out there but I quite like it. My husband was lucky enough to spend 2 nights with Angelina Jolie earlier. With her film she is producing he had to be a safety officer because there were explosions and fire. Sven is a fireman. He never spoke to her about her procedure. But she is great also to show hey it’s not a big deal. I asked him what she is like and all he said was skinny with a huge wedding ring. The next night he ate with her and her kids. We were more excited than him actually as he saw her as just a everyday person. He even said she is no different than talking to me......I took that as a HUGE compliment.
Italy is on my list to visit one day. What a beautiful place. You must be a FANTASTIC cook.
I had a cruise booked for May and was leaving from Sydney. Next time for sure as Sven wants to leave from the harbour. I want to do a bridge climb. So we both can’t wait to get there. It was only a four night cruise from Sydney to Brisbane.
Anyway 4 more sleeps until my big day.
You have a wonderful day :-)
Bec
