- AfraserMemberI think how you travel depends on what you may have had before. A lot of women find A/C awful, with fatigue, nausea etc so Taxol is easier by comparison. I had virtually no symptoms with A/C (hair loss of course and I didn't know about the arrhythmia till later!) so I thought Taxol was revolting! The main thing is that it finally ends. I was tempted to chuck the last two sessions, but I didn't and felt pleased that I had seen it all through.
- Kat09MemberHi @KatherineH , I found Taxol to be relatively easy the worst things for me were going to hospital each week, a runny nose and occasional watery eyes and fatigue towards the end of the 12 cycles. I did occasionally get slight tingling in my fingers but it thankfully never got any worse than that. I did wear cold gloves on my hands and feet for the 1st 3 treatments weather that helped avoid neuropathy or not I don't know. I am 3 weeks post treatment now and the fatigue is easing.
Good luck with your treatment - primekMemberI was miserable on it. Indigestion. Loose bowels. Pain in joints. Fluid retention. Balance issues and neuropathy. Watety eyes and nose. Blood nosea. But got through it and recovered. We are all different. My friend had virtually none of that. Best of luck. Kath x
- Cynth6MemberI've done 4 rounds with 8 to go. Still get tired but not as bad as it was with AC. I also get a bloody nose every morning. Slightly starting to get tingling and numbness in feet and fingers. My hair has started to grow on taxol too.
Good luck with your 12 rounds. - GlemmisMemberI had slight neuropathy too towards end but this resolved quickly. No taste & dry eyes. Felt worse after for about 10 days but then started to feel okay.
- lgray3911MemberI have done 2 taxol with 10 to go and have no side effects so far. So much easier than the AC you will be fine xx
- TennilleMemberI had slight neuropathy and dizziness towards the end but other than that pretty cruizy.
- AfraserMemberI had no nausea, fatigue or digestive problems but the peripheral neuropathy in my feet was a problem (and I still have funny feet). I lost most of my taste buds and had a bloody nose, annoying but not too difficult and improved as soon as I finished the course (12 sessions). Good luck!
- fairydustMemberHi KatherineH it was a relief for me to be on Taxol after having AC. Initially things went smoothly until towards the end of my 12 sessions. By session 8 began to experience dizziness and feeling woozy . I told the oncologist who altered dosage and added a mild sedative ...big improvement.
Was told to report symptons of neuropathy in hands and feet. By session 1O had to stop neuropathty was getting severe.
Now I have some neuropathy still but easing.
So no need to be a martyr . Many others around me did quite well.
The breast care nurse warned me towards the end I would get progressively physically and emotionally tired. I did.
Best wishes - AnonymousI had mild peripheral neuropathy during treatment and still have it nearly 2 years later. I didn't have any other symptoms and my hair started growing back on Taxol. Best of luck. It wasn't too bad at all for me, although having numb feet is a pain.
