Specialist Tomorrow

One down, one to go. Went to the GP today... all good as far as it goes. She confirmed BC.. and wrote the referral. I feel a little calmer as she answered some of my questions but said it's really between me, my husband and the specialist. The nurse from the cancer clinic rang at lunch today to see how I was going. I told her about this web site and she could only sing it's praises.

 I read about 'what to tell your children' and have planned some fun activities for my son for the rest of the holidays... although he really wants to go to Dreamworld and I'm not to sure .. although 'Lollipops' here we come!

Thanks again everyone for your support.... may have an update tomorrow..

    Thanks Jane... I just read your blog... you have been through a lot and your strength amazes me.. thanks for the info on Chemo... I'm trying really hard to stay focused on the present... one step/hurdle at a time.

    Thanks Pam... I'm alot calmer now... I'll have the lump removed Friday and then move on from there. Not looking forward to Chemo... I'll have to read people's stories to get a better understanding on what I'm in for.

    Ive been thinking about you today.. Your now on your way, things will move so quickly now, just remember to breathe, look after yourself and jump on here when ever you need to.

    Hi Trina So glad the wait for your appointment is over. Goodluck with your surgery on Friday. The wait will begin again as you await pathology but then you should know what you're dealing with. The whole journey seems to be one big wait. Waiting for results, doctors, treatment to start etc. Needing chemo isn't the news you were hoping for I bet but just remember it is doable. You may want to read the post by Joey " you know you're on chemo when." Chemo can be challenging but it can't take away or sense of humour. Thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs Take care Mel xxx

    Hi Chris

    I'm just back from the specialist. Having a 'lumpectomy' on Friday morning.. and what ever else they do. Get the results the following Wednesday so may go back under the following Friday.The Doctor thinks we have caught it early so fingers crossed...Was hoping to avoid Chemo but no such luck so if everything goes right that's the next step then radium...
